Examination of the art object may serve to recognize the structure of an artwork, its condition and the cause of certain damages. Examination may further allow a glimpse at the genesis of an artwork and reveal stages of the artistic process. Our studio is equipped with all basic examination tools as ultraviolet and infrared fotography and x-ray as well as microscopic techniques including 3D microscopy. Chemical analysis is performed by our partner laboratories. Investigation does of course include catalogue and literature research or consultiation of the artist.
